Affected versions
DomainScan Server Monitoring 7
DomainScan Pro v2.83+

Description up
XML based devices lists were introduced with DomainScan Pro v2.83 / DomainScan Standard v6.63. These lists contains the name of additional devices that are to be scanned by DomainScan.

DomainScan supports multiple Device Lists, which means that 3rd party software can create device lists, and thereby integrate with DomainScan.

When a Device List is read to DomainScan, then a user defined domain will be created, as defined by the Device List.

Usage notes up

It’s highly recommended to use the graphical editor within DomainScan to alter Device Lists files.

See here for further information about editing Device Lists.

A default Device List file is included by the default DomainScan installation. This file can be used as a template for 3rd party integration.

Note
One can also use text-based legacy device lists, which is an easier format to work with. However, it’s less flexible.

The domain name in the XML file must be unique and contain between 4 and 32 characters. The domain name will automatically be enclosed by Curly brackets.
