Clean installation1: Run the setup file. Install DomainScan Pro (Service + Client) on one server.
2: Start DomainScan Pro and follow the Setup Wizard that will guide you though the initial setup.
3:
(Optional) Once the initial scan is complete, install DomainScan Pro Client on computers from where you wish to be able to work with DomainScan Pro.
Upgrade1. Stop DomainScan Pro Service. This can be done from within DomainScan Pro in
Settings.
2. Close DomainScan Pro Client.
3. Run the setup file. Install DomainScan Pro Service on one PC, and DomainScan Pro Client on the PC's from where you want to monitor the service.
4. Start DomainScan Service again (either restart the server, or use the Service Setup panel in Preferences)
Note: Skip step 1 and 4 on computers where only DomainScan Pro Client is installed.
DomainScan Pro upgrade informationIf you’re upgrading DomainScan Pro to a version that contains an newer revision of the database engine (
GDB), then DomainScan Pro Service will automatically perform an on-the-fly database upgrade.
Until the upgrade has been completed, the new version of DomainScan Client may be set in read-only mode as it has to wait for the upgrade to complete before it can alter database settings.
In DomainScan Pro v2.73 / DomainScan v6.52 and later, the main registry key is
DomainScan Pro /
DomainScan Standard. The installer will automatically upgrade the registry keys. After this upgrade, older versions of DomainScan will not be able to read registry settings
When upgrading to DomainScan Pro v2.83 / DomainScan v6.63 (or later), one may experience that the TCP Port list and the list of allowed devices that can make modifications may be reset.
Uninstall1.
Important Stop and then uninstall DomainScan Pro Service. This can be done from within DomainScan in
Settings.
2. Close DomainScan Pro Client.
3: Run the uninstall program.
