Visualization engine up

Information in DomainScan can be visualized by the fast built-in visualization engine. This visualization engine can visualize audit information, usage information as well as other types of information.

One usage is the Usage Graphs, which is statistical information that is collected at each scan.

Graphs up

The graphs panel shows the currently active graphs. One can select one or more graphs at the same time.

If multiple graphs are shown, each graph will be drawn with a different color.

DomainScan Standard does not support multiple graphs at the same time, but DomainScan Pro, also from GH Software, can show multiple graphs simultaneously.

Furthermore, DomainScan Pro features regression line support and more features than is available in DomainScan.

Tip
To remove a graph from the list, select the graph (at the top level) and press Delete on the keyboard.
Tip
The graph list can be detached from the window. In order to do so, click and hold on the graph list text at the top, and drag the Graph list free from the window.

Options up
All settings on this panel is bound to the selected graph. At the top, one can select which graph to modify.

Graph type:
Here, one can choose how to draw the graph. By default, most graphs will be drawn with lines between values.
However, one may wish to show only the values (Dot), or highlight the place where the actual value is located.

Show regression graph:
If set, the visualization engine will calculate and show a linear regression graph (or a 'best-fit' graph).
See below for information about the regression graph

Show X-axis:
If set, the visualization engine will make sure that graph scales in a way such that the X-axis is shown.

Show Y-axis:
If set, the visualization engine will make sure that graph scales in a way such that the Y-axis is shown.

Tracking:
If set, then the tracking functionality will be activated. When active, the visualization engine will always locate the value that is near the current position of the mouse, as shown on the picture above. Furthermore, the coordinate for the nearest value will be shown in the status bar.

Regression line

The visualization engine can calculate and show a linear regression line on-the-fly. If regression is enabled, then the calculated regression values will be shown as a sub item to the Regression item in the graph list.

Slope (Ax) and Intercept (B) are used to draw the graph by using the following formula:

Y = Slope * X + Intercept

Mean, standard deviation, variance and correlation coefficient can be used for statistically purposes.

In regards to Correlation coefficient – it can normally be used as a ‘guideline’ to how precisely the regression line is to the actual graph.
The value will be between 0 and 1, with 1 being the perfect match between the graph and the regression line (all pixels in the graph is placed on a straight line, with no deviation from that line)

Autofit Y-axis
If multiple graphs are shown simultaneously, then one or more graphs may be above or below the graph window. But when this option is enabled, then the graph window will be scaled in order to fit to all graphs.

Information up
The canvas array can be resized as one might need. If one wishes to narrow down the current view, use the zoom function to zoom in or out.

Below the graph, one can choose zoom-factor, and see information about the graphs.

Furthermore, one can see additional information by clicking the Information icon.
