DomainScan v6.63 released

This release introduces a XML based flexible device list format, where one can add additional devices that DomainScan Standard must scan.

Also, an updated and much faster virtualization engine is included.

Furthermore, the scanning engine is updated in multiple areas, and is now even more stable; even in situations where monitored devices may behave oddly.

august 14: DomainScan Pro v2.83 released
DomainScan is now capable extracting information about security products, such as Antivirus or Firewall product.

Also, this release introduces a XML based flexible device list format, where one can add additional devices that DomainScan must scan.

juni 29: DomainScan v6.62 released
This release introduces a new dashboard that improves usability a lot thanks to the much more condensed nature of the information that is presented.
Furthermore, this edition sports a redesigned ping and port scanner utility as well as a couple of improvements in the scanning engine.

juni 15: DomainScan Pro v2.82 released
This update introduces a redesigned dashboard that improves usability a lot thanks to the much more condensed nature of the information that is presented.

Reporting features is also updated, and a number of new reports are added, including inventory and warranty reports.

A new unique feature is also introduced: One can now enter price and warranty information, so that DomainScan can be used to calculate asset values on the fly.
This feature is not even seen in highly expensive asset management tools, but has the potential to save a lot of otherwise tedious time calculating and determine asset values.

marts 18: DomainScan v6.61 released
This evolutionary release contains a number of enhancements and small changes that makes DomainScan an even better monitoring solution. Information presentation is slighty better, and aggregate information is now calculated and shown on the fly. Furthermore, one can now delete devices and users.
Finally, in the ongoing effort to make DomainScan as good as possible, a few bugs has been identified and resolved.



marts 11: DomainScan Pro v2.81 released
With this quality release, it is now possible to merge devices, users and domains.
Furthermore aggregate information is now calculated and shown on the fly when one clicks on a column header in the device or user panel.
Finally, the Field Chooser subsystem has been enhanced.

In the Scanning engine, communication with SNMP enabled devices has been enhanced and a few other issues are resolved.



januar 19: DomainScan Pro v2.8 released
This major update introduces a number of new and improved features.
The monitoring engine is updated and is much easier to use.
Tasks and Organization is improved
Notifications are now placed in its own module.
CPU load and memory load is collected on all devices and shown graphically.
The discovery engine is slightly updated, resulting in faster and more reliable scan cycles.
Windows Vista interoperability has improved and there is preliminary support for the upcoming Windows 7.

januar 19: DomainScan v6.6 released
This release introduces a number of new and improved features.
The scanning engine is updated, resulting in faster and more reliable scan cycles.
DomainScan will now collect basic hardware information, such as CPU load, installed memory, disc capacity etc.
The monitoring system is updated, and is easier to use.
Windows Vista interoperability has improved and there is preliminary support for the upcoming Windows 7.


januar 5: DomainScan v6.6 Beta 1 available
The upcoming freeware edition of DomainScan sports a number of enhancements.
Disk, processor and memory usage is now detected, as well as standard peripherals, such as USB, Firewire and PC Card adapter.
Furthermore, the scanning engine is enhanced and is more robust.

januar 5: GDB Database Analyzer v1.9 released
This release adds support for GDB revision 3.8, which is used by DomainScan Pro v2.8 and DomainScan v6.6.

december 19: DomainScan Pro v2.8 Beta 2 available
The upcoming edition of DomainScan Pro sports a number of enhancements.
The entire monitoring system is updated, and usage is simplified. Device information window is updated. CPU and memory usage is now recorded for each device, so that one can track device performance better than ever.
The Bug Hunt license unit award also applies to this beta release!

august 20: DomainScan v6.53 released
This release enhances the freeware edition DomainScan in multiple areas; mostly behind the scenes. The scanning engine algorithm has been updated and is now more robust.
Furthermore a number of tweaks have been added to the user interface.

august 6: DomainScan Pro v2.74 released
This release enhances DomainScan in a number of ways; mostly behind the scenes. The scanning engine algorithm has been updated and is now more robust.
Support for SMTP servers that requires authentication is added.
With this release, DomainScan Pro is also capable of detecting the host of virtual devices (such as VMware and Microsoft).
Furthermore a number of tweaks have been added to the user interface.

juni 11: DomainScan Pro v2.73 released
This release features a lot of changes to the database engine, which leads to much faster database performance, and furthermore increases Client stability.
This update also features a completely redesigned service installation routine and many minor changes to the user interface.

DomainScan v6.52 is also released with the same enhancements as the Pro edition.

april 28: DomainScan Pro v2.72 released
A new 'matrix view' mode is added to the monitor overview which makes it simpler to supervise running monitors.
Also added is the possibility to launch admin shares from within DomainScan.
'Device usage' statistics are now collected and shown per user.

The freeware edition (DomainScan v6.51) is also released.

marts 31: DomainScan Pro v2.71 released
With this release, one can now assign users to a task, and DomainScan can nag this user, by sending daily emails, when the deadline has been reached.
Furthermore, one can now assign custom email addresses for every user.

marts 5: DomainScan Pro released
The DomainScan application has been renamed to DomainScan Pro, and a number of new exiting features are added; for instance filter functionality in the main window. DomainScan can now help one to remember when somebody needs to do something thanks to the ‘Task deadline’ functionality.

The freeware edition, DomainScan, is also released with updated and new features.

januar 21: DomainScan v2.63
In this release focus has been on improving the overall user experience. The setup wizard are therefore redesigned and simplified. Network and Service information is now separated. Furthermore, enhancements have been made in the Scanning Engine to resolve some minor issues.

december 14: DomainScan v2.62 and DomainScan Light v6.31 released
The device and user information dialogs has been significantly redesigned.
Furthermore, users can now be set as being obsolete.

november 26: DomainScan 2.61 released
Windows Home Server is now supported. HOSTS file support is also added to this release as well.

november 9: DomainScan 2.6 released
In this update, IPv6 support is introduced. Also introduced is the note functionality, so that one can assign notes and deadlines to devices and users.
Multimedia audit are introduced as well.
Furthermore, the user interface has been reworked for improved usability.
Finally, the license unit schema has been simplified and will use app. 10% less license units than the previous releases.

november 5: DomainScan Light 6.3 released
IPv6 support is introduced in this release.
Furthermore, this release contains a significant update to the user interface, which focuses on easy-of-use.

oktober 29: GDB Database Analyzer v1.6 released
This release adds support for the upcoming GDB revision 3.5, which will be used by DomainScan v2.6 and DomainScan Light v6.3 which is due for release in November 2007.

oktober 24: DomainScan v2.6 Beta 1 released
This beta spots 2 important new features:
IPv6 is now supported.
And one has the ability to add notes and deadlines to all devices and users.
Furthermore, the main window is updated and is now simpler to use.

september 24: DomainScan v2.53 released
A number of monitor templates are shipped with this release, so that one can easily set DomainScan up to monitor SQL, IIS and other important services.

One can now test monitors against any known device.
And finally, a heartbeat function is also added.

september 3: DomainScan v2.52 released
This release introduces a number of new device types – SQL, Terminal server, Mail server and more. New is also instant statistics in the main window.
Also introduced, are a new set of device icons that will help to detect devices with problems easily. Furthermore, mails created by DomainScan, are now HTML formatted.

august 22: DomainScan Light v6.2 released
This release introduces new device types, and a completely redesigned icon representation for devices and users. This release also enhances the functionality, and it’s now possible to group devices and user in the main window.

juli 30: DomainScan v2.51 released
In this release, preliminary Windows Server 2008 support has been added.
Furthermore, the network search tools have been improved, and multiple devices can now be searched simultaneously with their default login credentials.

juli 16: DomainScan v2.5 released
This release sports numerous improvements: Scanning time has been reduced by up to 50%.
The monitor system is updated and one can now assign specific monitor-response paths.
The user interface has been updated for improved usability.
The event log is now exported as a standard CSV file for easier 3rd party integration.

juli 5: GDB Database analyzer updated
GDB Analyzer, the tool for updating and analyzing databases from DomainScan and DomainScan Light has been updated to support GDB revision 3.4, which will be the featured revision in DomainScan 2.5 as well as DomainScan Light 6.1

[July 2] DomainScan v2.5 RC 1 released
This release contains a number of fixed since Beta 2 and is now production stable. Among changes since v2.31 are a faster scanning engine, enhanced monitoring, redesigned device and user information dialogs and a general user interface polish.

[June 18] DomainScan v2.5 beta 2 released
This updated release is feature complete, and spots an entirely new event logging mechanism. The output is now CSV formatted for easy integration with 3rd party tools. Also, issues from beta 1 have been resolved.

[May 30] DomainScan v2.5 beta 1 released
This preview brings a number of new features. Most important is a redesigned preprocessing engine, which is up to 70% faster. The monitor system is also enhanced and it’s now possible to define that a response can only respond to events from selected monitors. The device and user information interface is updated. [Mar 28] DomainScan v2.31 released
With this release, it is now possible to gather process information during audit.

[Dec 11] DomainScan v2.26 released
This release contains updates to the monitor system; the disk monitor has been improved and can now monitor individual partitions, and the user interface is updated and simplified for easier usage. Furthermore, the regression line system is updated and is now dynamically calculated.

[Dec 11] NetScanG v5.25 released
In this update, the monitor system has been updated, with simplified usage and improved feedback. Also, the engine has been updated slightly.

[Nov 27] DomainScan v2.25 released
The outlook panel has been updated in this release in order to be more informative. Also, the setup wizard has been improved, the GH Software online module is updated, and a few tweaks are implemented.

[Nov 21] NetScanG v5.24 released
This is an incremental release with a few enhancements. First, installation has been improved, and will now install easier than before. Also, the GH Software online module has been updated, as well as minor enhancements to the user interface.

[Nov 6] DomainScan v2.24 released
In this release the Domain Report utility is redesigned and a few filters are added. Network tools are also redesigned and usability is enhanced. Further more, preliminary Windows Vista support is added.

[Nov 2] NetScanG v5.23 released
The network tools are updated with this release – so it’s now possible to send messages and shutdown multiple devices. Furthermore, this release has preliminary support for Windows Vista

[Oct 16] DomainScan v2.23 released
A reworked ping utility is included in this release, which features graphical ping response plot and a new interface makes it easy to keep focus even when multiple devices are pinged simultaneously. Remote desktop can now be launched from within DomainScan and the interface is slightly improved. This release also includes detection for x64 OS’es, VMWare virtual servers.

[Oct 9] NetScanG v2.22 released
This release brings an improved ping tool, with a much improved user interface. The address tracker is improved, as well as the setup wizard. The scanning engine is improved and will now cope better with network related problems, especially in multi workgroup/domain environments.

[Sep 25] DomainScan v2.22 released
DomainScan v2.22 brings a few subtle, but significant, changes. The user monitor can now detect and warn if local users are logged in. Regression lines can now show the interception points on the axes. Furthermore, the scan engine is fine tuned, and will now work faster in 'difficult' network environments.

[Sep 11] DomainScan v2.21 released
v2.21 in an incremental update that brings updates to the monitor system, an improved User directory interface plus some additional UI improvements.
The engine is slightly enhanced and will now scan the network a bit faster.

In this version, the user monitor is re-implemented and Directory information can now be seen in NetScanG. Also, the Data analysis tool is slightly updated and a few enhancements have been implemented in the scanning engine for improved stability.

[Aug 16] DomainScan v2.2 released
In v2.2 a number of important features is included: Notifications – a unified way to collect and display noticeable information, for instance when new devices are discovered. A new unique user monitor is introduced, which can be used to monitor if users exceeds a number of unique logins or even if the user logs in. Furthermore, the entire monitor/response interface is redesigned for improved usability.
Finally, this release has undergone a new quality assurance checkup, which makes this the most reliable and streamlined release ever.

[July 17] DomainScan v2.1 released
In v2.1, the user interface is updated, which makes DomainScan even easier to use and navigate thanks to the new ‘advanced’ mode.
The visualization engine is updated with a new interface and regression line support is implemented.
Kiosk mode support has been upgraded, and administrators can now turn certain features off on DomainScan Clients that are used by non-admin personnel.

[July 17] NetScanG v5.1 released
In NetScanG v5.1 multiple domain support and the device list feature has been implemented, which means that NetScanG now can monitor any network device.
Also, NetScanG features an updated visualization engine.
Furthermore, a number of back-end issues have been resolved.

[June 13] DomainScan 2.1 beta 1 released
In beta 1 an updated visualization engine is introduced, which implements a wider range of features, including instant regression line support.
The user interface is updated, and is now more user friendly, and a new advanced toolbar will help navigating faster though the features of DomainScan.

Also, NetScanG v5.1 beta 1 is released which also features the updated visualization engine, as well as a number of smaller changes.

[May 22] DomainScan 2.02 released
In v2.02, visualization support on hardware audit has been improved, and it is now possible to make an All-domains domain report. Database synchronization is improved and a few issues have been resolved.

[May 15] NetScanG 5.01 released
Version 5.01 is a minor update that improves stability, feedback on network problems and fixes issues found in v5.0.

In version 2.01, a device list editor is added in order to create device lists easier. Furthermore, the user interface is slightly improved, and functionality on non-domain networks is improved.

[Nov 30] DomainScan v1.71 released

In version 1.7, WMI tool, ping tool and port scanner is redesigned and is now extremely flexible and utilizes the underlying multithreaded DomainScan batch engine for improved performance.

[Sep 22nd] DomainScan v1.63 released
In version 1.63, the breakdown tools and the main menu are redesigned. A menu is added with short cuts to some of the commonly used Windows tools.

[Aug 15th] NetScanG v4.3 released
In version 4.3, the user interface is improved, and the notification system has been improved in order for NetScanG to provide better feedback.

[Aug 8th] Demodatabase 3 published
A 3rd DomainScan demo database has been released, in order for potential customers to test DomainScan before purchase.

DomainScan v1.61 is a minor update where the user interface is improved.
Database connection error handling is improved, and the address tracker does now support wild card searches.

[June 22nd] NetScanG v4.2 released
In this version two new tools has been added - 'Send Message' and 'Shutdown'. These two tools make it possible to shutdown a remote computer and to send messages to remote computers.
An ignore list is also added, which can be used to exclude computers from the scan.
Significant improvements: Multi graph support. Find IP address can now perform wildcard searches. Reworked Installation Wizard.

In NetScanG v4.1, the interface now uses Windows XP style, if available.
A new tool - Port Test Lite - has been added, which makes it possible to test if some common ports (such as HTTP) are open.
A new installation wizard is also added for easier installation.

[Feb 22nd] DomainScan 1.5 Released
DomainScan v1.5 is a major update, which introduces a number of new features, which makes DomainScan an even more unique and useful tool.
A new tool is the port test tool, which can be used to test for open ports. The new Domain Report tool is an advanced and extremely useful tool that – in a few seconds – can produce a comprehendible presentation of resources in the domain.
The user interface is updated, Active Directory and WMI support is extended, and a lot of other changes make this the most important update yet.

[Jan 17th] DomainScan 1.12SR1 Released
DomainScan v1.12 SR1 is an evolutionary update that brings faster database read performance, some improvements to the user interface and an updated GH Software online module. Download it from the GH Software website.
SR1 fixes a bug in the license validation, which may cause some keys to be rejected.

[Jan 3rd] NetScanG v4 RC1 Released
NetScanG v4 brings a number of improvements, including service pack detection, improved stability and the ability to monitor up to 444 computers. And it’s still freeware.
